About Tia Burroughs Clayton, MSS

Tia Burroughs Clayton is a non-profit and philanthropic consultant with almost 15 years of experience.  Tia began her career in direct service at several non-profit organizations in Philadelphia, including BEBASHI and Prevention Point Philadelphia. She then went on to work on evaluation and/or capacity building projects for the U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Foundation for Child Development and Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation. Most recently, Tia’s work has centered around creating opportunities for strategic learning and organizational development. For example, Tia served as senior consultant on a project that created a strategic plan to use grantee data to create regular learning opportunities for staff, and guide trustees in future grant making initiatives. Tia also has extensive experience in grantmaking and program management. For several years, Tia was the Program Manager of the RWJF New Connections program, a grantmaking and professional development program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Tia was involved in all levels of the program, including grants management, grantee selection, planning and executing professional development workshops, and program outreach.
