Virtua Health COVID Vaccination Mega Site

Featured Grantees

The Virtua Foundation supports Virtua Health in its mission of providing excellent healthcare to the communities it serves.

Virtua recognizes the correlation the pandemic has on everyone’s mental health and proposes to pilot a Mega Site Mental Health Awareness project with the Scattergood Foundation supporting the reduction of pre- vaccine anxiety, stress reduction at the site and connect every vaccine recipient to mental health resources throughout our community with the following tasks:

  1. Create a virtual step-by-step walk-through of the Mega Site for parents and caregivers to use to educate their family members, and children, thereby alleviating pre vaccination anxiety
  2. Include behavioral health training for Mega Site volunteers to ensure they are able to correctly identify people in need of a sensory-friendly area at the Site
  3. Purchase anxiety reducing equipment for the low-stimulation area of the Mega Site
  4. Connect 100% of vaccine recipients to community-wide mental health resources while recipients enter the mandatory post vaccination holding area.
