Socks for the Streets

Overdose Prevention and Community Healing Fund

Socks For The Streets will use the Prevention Fund Grant to bring compassion, nourishment, and hope to the Kensington area.

About

Socks For The Streets will use the Prevention Fund Grant to bring compassion, nourishment, and hope to the Kensington area. With this grant, we will provide two or more lovingly prepared meals to individuals experiencing hunger and homelessness, ensuring that no one goes hungry. These home-cooked meals are made with care and affection, aiming to nourish not just the body but also the soul, fostering a sense of dignity and community.
Our dedicated outreach efforts in Kensington will go beyond providing meals. We will supply essential items such as clothing, hygiene products, and blankets to individuals who are struggling. By consistently showing up and offering these necessities, we aim to build trust and meaningful connections, with the hope that those we serve will feel encouraged to accept further help and support.
Additionally, the grant will help cover critical operational costs, including storage fees for our supplies, maintenance of our website to enhance our outreach and communication, nonprofit insurance to safeguard our activities, and gas expenses to ensure our team can reach those in need. Through these efforts, Socks For The Streets is committed to making a profound and compassionate impact on the lives of the most vulnerable in our community.
