We fund organizations and projects which disrupt our current behavioral health space and create impact at the individual, organizational, and societal levels.
Our participatory funds alter traditional grantmaking by shifting power
to impacted communities to direct resources and make funding decisions.
We build public and private partnerships to administer grant dollars toward targeted programs.
We provide funds at below-market interest rates that can be particularly useful to start, grow, or sustain a program, or when results cannot be achieved with grant dollars alone.

The Homeless Advocacy Project (HAP) will conduct free legal clinics at the Mike Hinson Resource Center (MHRC), a new after-hours emergency housing intake site for individuals experiencing homelessness.
The Homeless Advocacy Project (HAP) will conduct free legal clinics at the Mike Hinson Resource Center (MHRC), a new after-hours emergency housing intake site for individuals experiencing homelessness. Through the clinic, HAP will meet the legal needs of clients at risk of or experiencing homelessness in the North Philadelphia community and will further solidify HAP’s long-standing partnership with SELF, Inc., the nonprofit organization operating the site.
One of HAP’s six in-house attorneys will supervise the MHRC legal clinics, and HAP staff and volunteer attorneys, paralegals, and law student interns, who are recruited and trained by HAP, will staff the clinics. At each clinic, HAP staff and volunteers will meet with and interview prospective clients to assess their legal needs, which may be addressed on-site through advice or information, with a referral to another legal or social service agency, and/or through extended legal assistance or representation.
HAP’s legal services include help with establishing eligibility for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) disability benefits, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), medical assistance, and SNAP; securing compensation, pension, and military discharge upgrades for Veterans; enforcing custody and other family law rights; securing and correcting identity documentation; and accessing shelter and other housing-related services.
HAP is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which was established in 1990.
