to impacted communities to direct resources and make funding decisions.
We build public and private partnerships to administer grant dollars toward targeted programs.
We provide funds at below-market interest rates that can be particularly useful to start, grow, or sustain a program, or when results cannot be achieved with grant dollars alone.

Uplift Center for Grieving Children will hold four in-school student-centered grief support groups, two youth and caregiver groups that will take place outside of school hours, and proposes to dedicate 20% FTE of a bi-lingual clinician to conduct outreach efforts.
Using the Prevention Fund grant, Uplift Center for Grieving Children will hold four in-school student-centered grief support groups. These groups will include 8 to 10 similarly-aged youth, who will meet for an hour weekly across 6 weeks. Students will meet with an Uplift clinician and explore grief experiences, learn emotional regulation skills, identify connections with peers and trusted adults, and discuss emotions.
Uplift will also hold two youth and caregiver groups that will take place outside of school hours. Best efforts will be made to recruit residents in the 19124, 19133, 19134, 19132, and 19140 zip codes. While individuals may come from other zip codes, Uplift’s services are largely provided to individuals residing in the low-income and high-crime areas of North, Northwest, Northeast, and West Philadelphia.
Finally, Uplift proposes to dedicate 20% FTE of a bi-lingual clinician to conduct outreach efforts to institutions, organizations, community-based organizations, and neighborhood groups in the 19124, 19133, 19134, 19132, and 19140 zip codes. This outreach will lead to partnerships making the communities aware of Uplift and the services it provides, how to enroll in services, and the importance of receiving grief services. From these communities, Uplift will learn other traumas that are compounding with existing grief, how Uplift’s programs can adjust to meet emerging community needs, and how to better engage with the community.
