Our participatory grantmaking alters the traditional process of philanthropic giving by empowering service providers and community-based organizations to define the strategy around a specific issue area or population.
The Foundation has partnered with the City of Philadelphia Department of Health and disAbility Services on various projects to improve behavioral health outcomes across the city:
MindKare Kiosks: In 2014, DBHIdS worked with Screening for Mental Health to develop and implement the MindKare Kiosk, an answer to the Scattergood Foundation’s Design Challenge question: How might we integrate mental health care into the emerging retail clinic market? Since then, the Foundation has worked with both DBHIdS and Screening for Mental Health to install MindKare Kiosks at various sites throughout the City. In 2018, the partners worked together to evaluate the impact of the kiosk on help-seeking behavior.
Place Matters: In 2016, Scattergood partnered with DBHIdS to analyze the City’s network of care for children’s outpatient behavioral health services.
