The field of behavioral health remains largely stagnant, relying on models and practices of the past. Across the country, organizations are working to shift the status quo – introducing new messengers, technologies and models for treatment, screening and prevention. The annual Scattergood Innovation Award provides an opportunity for these innovators to share their important work. The session will focus on the importance of disruption in our field by showcasing the Award's five finalists. This year, the finalists' programs on trauma-informed practice, depression screening, reducing hospital readmissions, job training for re-entering citizens, and holistic approaches to wellness.

As an approach to address the opioid epidemic, safe consumption spaces (SCS) – common in Canada and Europe – have become a topic of serious consideration in the US. SHARE OUR POLICY PAPER SERIES

Stop by Booth 994 in the Solutions Pavilion and pick up a few of our Policy and Building Better Systems papers to bring back to your organization!

*Pro Tip: They make for great plane reading!

The Scattergood Foundation has partnered with the Peg’s Foundation, to commission a series of solution oriented papers discussing some of the most pressing behavioral health policy issues. The policy papers are informed by a consortium of experts in mental health and addictions care including both strategic and tactical experts, who provide input on prioritization of topics and guidance on how to craft papers to promote effective advocacy.

The two foundations believe that now more than ever, philanthropic support in the area of policy is critical to improving the health outcomes for all.
